Dr. Samuel Thrope studied at Columbia University, the Jewish Theological Seminary, and the University of California at Berkeley, where he completed his dissertation on a Zoroastrian polemic against Judaism. He was a Martin Buber Fellow at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and now works at the National Library of Israel. His book The Israeli Republic, a translation of Iranian author Jalal Al-e Ahmad’s Israel travelogue, was published by Restless Books in 2014.
