Yael Shalev-Vigiser earned a BA cum laude in education and sociology and anthropology and an MA cum laude in the sociology of education, both from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She started working at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute in 2006. Between 2006 and 2013 she was a member of a research team that was part of an initiative for strategic planning in education headed by Prof. Dan Inbar. She also took part in a variety of projects and groups, and coauthored Matriculation Exams: A Framework for Understanding the Contemporary Israeli Education System and to Analyze the Possible Directions of Decision Concerning the Matriculation Exams. Between 2013 and 2017 she was the editorial secretary of the journal Theory and Criticism. In November 2016 she joined the Program for Developing Models of Collaborative Governance in Local Authorities as the administrative assistant, and since November 2017 she has been the program’s coordinator and a member of its research team.
