Overview and ObjectivesAcademic Director: Prof. Hanna Herzog The Van Leer Jerusalem Institute views the cultivation and strengthening of civil society as one of the foundations of democracy in Israel and as the basis for an egalitarian, pluralistic, and tolerant society.
