Lecture and Film Series

Feminism and Cinema

In conjunction with the Lafer Center for Women and Gender Studies, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem

Screening of Zero Motivation (Talya Lavie, Israel, 2014)

This lecture series presents Israeli films made in recent years by women directors and scriptwriters. The movies deal with the experiences of women in various spheres of Israeli society. They explore the thoughts and action that grow out of the complex relations created by contemporary society between gender and consciousness and between belonging and individualism.

Each screening will be accompanied by lectures that will examine from a feminist perspective the issue raised by the movie.

Lecture series conducted with the support of the A.M.N. Foundation
