Merav Perez is a doctoral student at the Gender Studies Program of Bar-Ilan University, and a researcher at the Center for the Advancement of Women in the Public Sphere at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute. Her dissertation deals with the avoidance of military service and its place in the life stories of men and women in Israel.
Merav worked as the director of research and information for the women's movement Na'amat. She also publishes web posts focusing on culture and films.
Among her research interests are: militarism in Israel, masculinity and the military, women in the workplace, social inequality, and welfare economics.
