Founded in 1970, the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute Library contains an interdisciplinary collection of over 40,000 books and journals. The library provides users with state-of-the-art IT infrastructure, an online catalog of the physical collection, and access to online databases. There are two separate libraries \u2013 one in the historic Van Leer building, and the other in the Polonsky Academy building.<\/p>\n

The library\u2019s users, known as \u201cLibrary Fellows,\u201d submit their credentials for membership annually, and are selected based on the recommendation of the Institute\u2019s Director. The Library Fellows are researchers at Israeli universities, visiting scholars from abroad, journalists, intellectuals, or public figures.<\/p>\n

Library Fellows enjoy borrowing privileges and have use of a desk in the library. They actively participate in the Institute\u2019s activities, and every month one of the Library Fellows presents a lecture at the Library Fellows\u2019 Seminar.<\/p>\n

The Library Fellows are part of a vibrant community of scholars dedicated to supporting the mission of the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute as a whole.<\/p>\n
