The Van Leer Forum for Public Discussion

The Knesset’s Constitution, Law, and Justice Committee recently passed an amendment to the Basic Law: Jerusalem, Capital of Israel. Among other things, the amendment lays the legal foundation for changing the municipal boundaries of Jerusalem. This development raises many questions regarding the political and municipal ramifications of the law for both Arab and Jewish residents. The Van Leer Forum for Public Discussion will address the current amendment to the law and its consequences for daily life in Jerusalem and for future negotiations over its boundaries.
