Economists of the Van Leer Institute: Israel Tax Progressivity Declined Between 2001 and 2013 / Moti Bassok, The Marker 13/12/2015 (Hebrew)

The tax system in the US is more progressive than the tax system in Israel.

Tax progressivity in Israel has declined significantly from 2001 to 2013. The share of income tax on individuals in the total amount of taxes has decreased from 35% to 27%, while the share of VAT has increased from 24% to 32%. This is what Professor Michel Strawczynski and economist Yarden Kedar of the Economics and Society Program at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute say in a press release published today.
