Wage increase in the IDF is lower than that of wages in the public sector, but once budgetary pensions are added, the salary level in the military is higher than that of the public sector / Edo Barel, Funder online 24/6/2016 (Hebrew)

A study conducted by Prof. Avia Spivak and Avishai Green at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute prior to the annual budget conference, supported by the Hanns Seidel Foundation, found that the increase in military wages in recent years was lower than the wages in the public sector, and its level is lower … However when the Van Leer researchers added the value of IDF budgetary pensions, wages rose by 21-30 percent above those reported. A large gap is thus manifested in favor of military wages.
