At 6 O’clock after the War

Now that the war that rattled Israeli society and the entire Middle East is over, we all want to stop and ask, What now? It’s clear that something is finished, but it’s not really known yet what is beginning. The ceasefire agreements are not stable, Israeli society is still wounded and in pain, and questions that had moved to the background during the war have returned to the forefront: the relations between Jews and Palestinians in Israel and in the West Bank, the condition of education, the police force and the distribution of arms to civilians, and Israel’s foreign relations—with the United States, Turkey, and others. The army itself, and the attitude toward the fallen, underwent significant changes during the war. What are the ramifications of all these? What does the future hold for us? Is this the time for healing and moving forward, and which additional challenges await us? This series of conversations between leading scholars will attempt to make sense of the current moment in various arenas and will offer a glimpse of the future.
