The International Workshop for Turkish and Israeli Journalists organized by the Global Political Trends Center (GPoT), the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Israel and the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute (VLJI), took place on April 29- May 1, 2013 in Jerusalem. This was the second stage of a joint project aimed at creating networks between journalists and strengthening channels of dialogue between the civil societies of the two countries. The main aim of the project was to inform senior Turkish journalists, editors and opinion molders about critical political and social issues in Israel. The project strove to enrich the journalists’ perspectives through meetings with senior officials, parliament members, academics and opinion molders. The discussions reflected the different viewpoints in Israeli society on critical issues. The project contributed to the normalization process which recently began between Turkey and Israel. The Turkish delegation included ten senior Turkish journalists from various newspapers and TV stations, two representatives from our Turkish partner GPoT and one representative from the FES Turkey office.
