Science and Creativity is a research group composed of leading scholars and artists in Israel in a variety of fields: computer science, musical composition, genetics, plastic and video art, history, philosophy, and brain sciences. The group meets monthly and discusses various topics from the diverse intellectual perspectives of its members and the differing approaches of their disciplines. The topics include the following: how to teach computer science to youngsters; what are the brain’s correlates of imagination and creativity; what are the cultural roles of science and myth; how can one characterize a single object using various artistic mediums; and what is the function of silence in music.

In its meetings the group aims to formulate an interdisciplinary language with which to breach the walls between different fields of knowledge without superficializing what each of these fields has to offer. The aim is to create a practical educational program that will help build bridges between the worlds of science, art, and interpretation.
