The group started meeting in April 2019. Its members are young Palestinian scholars who are studying toward advanced degrees in the social sciences and the humanities. The meetings aim to meet the need of Arab scholars in an Arabic-speaking environment and to help them acquire skills that will serve them in contending with the unique challenges they face in the academic track in the Israeli universities in which they are studying. By means of academic lectures in various disciplines, workshops, and exercises in analysis of texts, the group aims to consider the various ways in which critical knowledge is created. In the second year of the project, the group will focus on writing and collectively editing a publication in Arabic on creating critical knowledge in Israeli universities.
