Participating:

Chair - Omri Grinberg (Martin Buber Society of Fellows, Hebrew University)

The conference addresses the question of whether and how academic research can be transformed into public knowledge, from the perspective of the participants—academics and other experts engaged in this endeavor across various fields—through dialogue among them.

Discussions will take place in roundtable formats rather than lectures, focusing on both fundamental issues regarding the relationship between academia and public knowledge, as well as the realities of integrated practice. Additionally, they will explore specific fields in which academic research influences and is translated into practice, including activism, documentary filmmaking, media content creation (both in traditional media and social networks), and cultural and artistic arenas.

The conversations will be guided by shared themes: an integrated reflection on the ongoing challenge of translating academic research into public knowledge, alongside a series of questions concerning the present political, local-national, and global contexts.
