Postcapitalist ideas have been receiving wider audience in recent years in Europe and the United States. Whether they appear as a call for a universal basic income, a short work week, or wide-spread automation, the general thrust comes from the understanding that human-oriented rather than profit-oriented alternatives must be found. On the basis of these developments, the research team aims to develop an alternative conception and implementable projects through which it will be possible to imagine and promote a world in which economic profit is no longer the guiding principle of human society, a world in which social action can take place outside the confines of the economic market. The team will develop new postcapitalist ideas and models, adapted to the challenges facing Israeli society.
